Therapeutic Benefits of these Pure, Natural Essential Oils

Each essential oil included in this blend is described below including the botanical or scientific name along with the therapeutic properties of each essential oil.

Frankincense aka OLIBANUM (Boswellia carterii or B. frereana) – antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, immune-stimulant and sedative. Frankincense comes from trees called Boswellia carterii or B. frereana. It has some interesting qualities that may benefit our bodies. People have used frankincense in massage oils and medicines because it may help calm and reduce inflammation. It might even have a positive effect on our emotions and spiritual well-being. When we smell frankincense, it can make us feel peaceful, aware, and relaxed. It may also help us have a better attitude. Frankincense can have an impact on different parts of our body, such as our emotions, immune system, nervous system, and skin. It’s like a natural helper for finding balance and feeling good.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) Analgesic, anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, regenerative, and sedative. Lavender has some interesting qualities that can benefit our bodies. It has been used for a long time and is famous for its calming smell. Lavender is like a universal oil that can help in many ways. It has properties that can relieve pain, reduce inflammation, relax muscles, and even promote healing. It’s like a natural remedy for the body. When we use lavender, it can have a positive impact on our nervous system. It helps restore balance and can work wherever there is a need in our body. So, when in doubt, give lavender a try! One of the best things about lavender is its calming aroma. It can help people who have trouble sleeping, lower blood pressure, and reduce stress. Lavender is also mildly hypnotic and sedative, which means it can help with mood swings, irritability, confusion, tension, restlessness, fear, and even migraines. When we smell lavender, it can promote feelings of consciousness, health, love, peace, and a general sense of well-being. It’s like a little boost for our emotions. Lavender can have an impact on different parts of our body, including the cardiovascular system, emotional balance, nervous system, and skin.

Peppermint (Mentha pepperita) Analgesic, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory (prostate and nerve) antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral and invigorating. Peppermint is a popular plant known for its minty smell and taste. You can find it in various things like tea and toothpaste. Peppermint has a special quality that can help relieve pain. It’s like a natural pain-relieving oil. It’s great for different types of headaches, especially ones caused by tension or problems with blood vessels. Not only that, but peppermint can also be helpful for other types of pain. It’s good for reducing inflammation or muscle spasms that cause discomfort. For example, it can help with nerve pain like facial, dental, or sciatic pain. It can also provide relief for toothaches, sore throats, tendon pain, nerve inflammation, foot pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), and inflammation in the gallbladder (cholecystitis). Peppermint is like a little helper for easing different types of pain and making us feel better.

In a 2019 study comparing the effects of peppermint oil and lidocaine drops for migraine attacks, researchers found that headache intensity decreased in 40% of patients receiving either drop. Peppermint oil droplets, when applied inside the nose at an angle, were shown to reduce headache frequency and pain, much like lidocaine.

Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) Antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, sedative, tonic, stress-tension reducer, and calming. Ylang Ylang is an amazing plant that has several helpful qualities. It’s known for its antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, sedative, and tonic properties. It can also reduce stress and tension, and make you feel calm and relaxed. The original wild Ylang Ylang flowers didn’t have a fragrance, but through careful selection and cloning, people have developed a beautiful and fragrant aroma for Ylang Ylang. It’s like a sweet scent that can bring joy and peace to your senses. Ylang Ylang is great for finding balance and harmony within yourself. It can help with feelings of anxiety, depression, mental fatigue, and frustration. It’s like a soothing remedy for when you’re feeling down. It may even assist with anger, rage, and low self-esteem, promoting feelings of self-love, confidence, joy, and peace. This special plant can also have positive effects on your heart. It can help balance heart function and assist with issues like high blood pressure, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, and irregular breathing. Ylang Ylang can have an impact on your emotional well-being, cardiovascular system, hormonal system, and especially stimulate the adrenal glands.

Isopropyl Alcohol, also known as Rubbing Alcohol, is antiseptic, astringent, a surface disinfectant, deodorant. Isopropyl Alcohol, also called Rubbing Alcohol, has many uses and benefits.

  • It is an antiseptic, astringent, surface disinfectant, and deodorant.
  • People often use it as a liniment.
  • Because isopropyl alcohol can dry out the skin, it’s classified as a skin irritant. This irritation increases blood circulation in the area where it’s applied, which can help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. It’s commonly used for arthritis pain and joint swelling.
  • The term “rubbing alcohol” originally came from its historical use as a rubbing treatment. In some parts of the world, like the British regions, it is still known as Surgical Spirit. The term “rubbing” was used to emphasize that this alcohol was not meant to be consumed.
  • Isopropyl Alcohol is a natural treatment that can kill bacteria, fungi, and viruses when used in concentrations of 50% or higher. However, it may not necessarily prevent the growth of bacteria. Rubbing Alcohol is effective in killing germs on surfaces that are frequently touched, such as phones, keyboards, and computer mice.
  • According to WebMD, a concentration of 70% is actually better for disinfecting. The higher water content in this concentration helps it dissolve more slowly, penetrate cells, and effectively kill bacteria. The disinfecting power of rubbing alcohol decreases at concentrations higher than 80%-85%.
  • Isopropyl Alcohol is listed by the Environmental Protection Agency as an effective antimicrobial product against Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, Human HIV-1, and Hepatitis B Virus.
  • Besides being used as a liniment for muscle aches, rubbing alcohol is also found in hand sanitizers, first aid treatments for minor cuts, scrapes, burns, and is used to prepare injection sites.
  • Rubbing alcohol can even help eliminate odor-causing bacteria, making it useful for deodorizing shoes.
  • WebMD also mentions that inhaling rubbing alcohol after surgery can help soothe nausea and upset stomach. It is also effective in treating ear infections and restoring the pH level in the ear.
  • Alcohol is an astringent, which means it tightens pores. Some people use it to tone and tighten their skin after cleansing, but it can be very drying to the skin. It’s important to keep this in mind.

POTENCY: To retain the potency of Cool Mountain Muscle Liniment, refrigerate, when possible (in a zip lock bag), and use within 6 months of purchase. Do not expose to extreme heat, do not freeze.  Chemical components in essential oils can change their structure and properties in extreme heat.

Contraindications for Isopropyl Alcohol: Incorrect use of rubbing alcohol can cause serious side effects, including skin irritation, cardiac and neurological, problems and poisoning. For external use only. DO NOT SWALLOW or get near eyes. Do not use to treat acne, head lice, in the bath, and it will not reduce a fever. In case of emergency or accidental consumption, immediately seek medical attention or consult with a healthcare professional. Isopropyl alcohol is flammable, keep away from fire or flame. Do not mix with bleach. Swallowing or inhaling isopropyl alcohol can cause headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, and unconsciousness. Use only on the skin. Do not allow a child to use this product without supervision. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
